19 Round Mag Glock 17 - Three months since I bought my first gun — a Glock 19 Gen 4 — it now has about 1750 rounds, six out of seven practices. This is the period of birth of a new way of life. I have to admit I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm used to the Glock, and I carry it with me all the time - in and out of the house - (if I'm not in Massachusetts). My hands were calloused where they touched the gun. My training has pretty much plateaued before I can start training in a more dynamic environment or get some training in (preferably both). That's not to say I can't shoot well, but I'm certainly not satisfied. In slow fire I have learned the trigger enough that I can take one shot anywhere I want. At least until I change my sight...but I'll let that get to me. In panic drills, quick pulls, and fire, I usually see a good size on a 25 foot shaft. Do mozambique moves (two mid-masses, one in the head) I sometimes miss an inch of the head if I hurry (I try to hurry because I'm sure I won't do well in a shooting competition). With the factory angle, I can drill the same hole all day at 30 feet. The next step will be to achieve more consistency in rapid fire and combat actions. All my shooting is at my NH field and I recently got a membership to a local outdoor field so I can start training harder.

Enough for me How does this gun perform at 1750 rounds? It flows like the sun. The gun had one failure, a type 3 failure (double feeding of shells and firing, caused by failure to eject). This is because my girlfriend weakly held the gun in her wrist the first time she shot it and the gun hadn't broken in yet. In 1750 cycles, the gun has not failed unless it is due to user error. Sure, it's a good album, but not surprising.
Cleaning is done after every round and I have done two full disassembly Glock cleans, during which time every part of the gun is removed.
For a while I ran this gun with a NY1 trigger spring and a Ghost 3.5 trigger port. While I love to pull and reset the trigger, I found that the trigger would creep forward on its own even if the gun was not cycled to cause this. Frustratingly, if the trigger is in the forward position when I push the slide, it feels like the slide is experiencing a lot of extra resistance. The side effects of the mod bothered me and I switched back to stock triggers. After adjusting to 7-8 lbs of trigger pull with the NY1 trigger, I actually prefer to pull the stock trigger (where it's about 5.5 lbs).
I have XS Big Dot Combat Sights on the gun. These are great for quick target acquisition and also include Tritium Glow vials. As a combat sight, the XS sight is far better than a standard Glock sight, but the XS front sight is larger and shadows your target somewhat, making accurate shooting more difficult. After all, I still don't have a pistol for accuracy. You just need to be able to hit the center of mass and get to the goal quickly. The XS sight achieves this.

For ammo, I have tried a variety of ammo for the Glock 19, including some that many shooters would not consider. Gun saw a bunch of Winchester White Boxes from Walmart. It also uses factory loaded ammunition from Remington UMC, Remington, Federal, Fiocchi and UltraMax. Also, the gun has had no problems with the 50 rounds I have tested. These are CorBon DPX. All rounds through the gun are 115 grains.
Overall, the gun has performed very well and I have no doubt that it will perform without issue for the next tens of thousands of rounds. Look for future updates as new gun news develops.
